- In 2003 age 54, qualified for the world finals by winning the Illinois District with a drive of 342 yards. Steve was the oldest competitor to make it to the world finals in the senior division in 2003.
- Longest hit drive in world long drive competitions was 383 yards at the 2004 RE/MAX World Finals in the third round
- The LDA and RE/MAX made Steve exempt for the 2006 and future world finals because of his win and past accomplishments in world long drive competitions.
- Best round of golf was a 65 at the Elks Country Club of Hamilton, Ohio
